Clients
This Caversham client was an avid collector with clear but broad tastes. We made sense of the collection by pulling out themes and designating spaces to suit. What had felt unmanageable began to make sense, and feel cohesive.Bouncing off the palette already prevalent in the room, or using the small space of a downstairs WC to give impact to a mixed collection of framed magazine covers, the house now feels like an elegant reflection of the homeowner.
Clients
This Henley client had a range of prints collected over the years, many not yet on display and others in need of re-positioning. We spent an hour or so talking through the collection and looking at the use of each room.Working together, we found some obvious harmonies and got some pictures hung. We broke the back of our task with a large ‘gallery wall’.I loved re-configuring what had been the somewhat haphazard result of a slow accumulation of prints, into a considered space that allowed the collection to sing!
Clients
This Shipkake client had a huge collection of family photos in a mixture of frames, many of which had deteriorated over the years. We spent some time editing the selection and then with the help of Henley Scan who retouched those in need of repair I printed the chosen edit and reframed them. This wall focusses on babies and children from several generations. The project continues, for this is a big happy family with a huge box of memories just waiting to go on display.
TESTIMONIALS
Dear Emily, many thanks and thank you for hanging the items, it’s lovely to have old friends back on the walls.
Belinda, Rotherfield Peppard, 2024Thank you again for all your hard work last Friday. Anne and I are absolutely delighted with the result. The way you have arranged the pictures has transformed the dining room (it now feels very grown up!), and the pictures in the hall, sitting room and loo all help to make our home feel more, well, homely.
Malcolm, Tokers Green, 2022We've recently moved and have lots of pictures I didn't know where to put and lots of spare walls and not quite sure what to do art wise/where to hang things. We had Emily over and she helped by giving us guidance on so many of our frames (and even helped hang them!). They look brill but also she gave us really centred ideas of what we want in different places and what we now need to go and look for. It's one of those things you don't think you need, but when she left I realised how much it had helped! Going to get her to come and do our office next. Highly recommend.
Harriet, Peppard Common, 2020Some of Emily's suggestions in terms of groupings and placement make such sense that it feels ridiculous that they were not always so, while others I can at least take comfort that without her professional eye for the perfect mix of order and creativity, I would never have thought of. My bedroom immediately felt both more peaceful and lighter. My living room has a grouping of seemingly disparate pieces on one wall - including photos, illustrations, album covers, posters and a poem - that now feel of a piece. My kitchen was the perfect place for family photos. And in the bathroom, catching a glimpse of my favourite piece of art in the mirror makes me look forward to brushing my teeth like never before. I feel for the first time that my flat is finally the best version of itself.
